Our World is Waking Up
A spiritual awakening or emergence is a process of waking up to the realization that you are more than just a physical body. It’s the process of becoming aware of your true nature as a spiritual being. When you emerge, or wake up, you are shifting consciousness –allowing more in–and you begin to perceive life from a broader perspective. It happens for each of us in different ways, and you may notice a heightened intuition, or increased sensitivity, and a deep sense of connection to yourself, to nature and to the universe.
Spiritual Awakening and becoming aware of your true nature is your opening AND your opportunity to MORE love, more life, more everything. You are closing the gap of separateness.
Waking up to your true nature is a time of big internal change, and often it shakes your foundation. You may question your beliefs, values, and the very fabric of your reality. This can lead to a huge sense of liberation, as you break free from limiting beliefs and societal conditioning. That said, it can be a bumpy path, as emerging into your true self isn’t always smooth and can sometimes trigger feelings of anxiety or uncertainty.
The Journey of Spiritual Emergence
Spiritual emergence refers to the process of discovering and integrating the experiences and insights gained during your “wake-up call”. It is a transformative journey that allows you to explore your spirituality more deeply and goes hand in hand with personal growth and emotional healing.
As you come to open up to your spiritual self and ‘undo’ your limited programs, it’s common to encounter challenges. Relationships may shift, friendships may fade away, you may question anything and everything about your life, and new connections may be made with people and groups you never in a million years thought you would be connected to. Be prepared, because family and friends may be on a different timeline for their wake-up call, and that can create challenges and big changes. This is a natural part of personal transformation.
Recognizing a Spiritual Emergency
For some of us, spiritual awakenings can escalate into what is known as a spiritual emergency. This happens when an individual’s spiritual emergence becomes overwhelming, leading to feelings of confusion, fear, and disconnection from reality.
Unlike a crisis of faith, a spiritual emergency is characterized by intense emotional and psychological distress. Individuals may feel as though they are losing touch with their sense of self, experiencing vivid visions, or encountering overwhelming emotions that they cannot regulate. It is essential to recognize these signs early and seek support to move through this chaotic period.
How do you know if it’s a spiritual emergency or a true mental health breakdown?
This can be tricky and it’s important if you are EVER in doubt of your connection to reality that you seek medical advice. I won’t see anyone for spiritual emergency without knowing they’ve seen their doctor and that there isn’t any underlying medical or mental health condition happening.
Steps to Navigate Spiritual Emergence and Emergency
Whether you are experiencing a gentle wake-up or facing a spiritual emergency, there are steps you can take to support yourself through this process:
1. Acknowledge Where You Are
Recognize and acknowledge you are waking up to your true self. If you are emerging gently, understand that what you are experiencing is a normal part of the spiritual journey.
If you are in a crisis or emergency, know you are not alone, and STOP all your energetic and spiritual practices, just until you can get your energy and experience stabilized. This means no meditation, no working with your chakras, etc.
2. Get Support
In an emergency or crisis, you will need to find someone to help you – get yourself checked out medically, and then find yourself a healer or therapist who knows how to deal with a spiritual emergency or crisis.
3. Ground Yourself
Grounding techniques can help stabilize your energy and bring you back to the present moment. Spend time in nature, practice mindfulness, or engage in physical activities that connect you to your body. Simple practices, such as deep breathing and visualization, can also be effective.
4. Manage Your Energy
As you navigate your spiritual journey, it is essential to be mindful of your energy. Regularly clearing your energy field through practices like meditation, chakra balancing, or energy healing can help you maintain a sense of stability. Consider incorporating grounding foods and herbs into your diet to support your root chakra.
If you are in a crisis or emergency, STOP all your energetic and spiritual practices, just until you can get your energy and experience stabilized. This means no meditation, no working with your chakras, etc.
5. Establish a Self-Care Routine
Self-care is vital during times of spiritual emergence and spiritual emergency. Create a routine that includes activities that nourish your body, mind, and spirit. This can involve meditation, yoga, creative expression, or simply taking time to relax and recharge.
Understanding the Role of Rising Psychic Energy
As spiritual awakenings become more prevalent, you may find your psychic energy is rising. This heightened sensitivity can lead to profound experiences, enhancing intuition and awareness. However, it can also be overwhelming and may require time to adjust.
Embrace this energy as part of your spiritual journey. Recognize that it can serve as a conduit for growth and transformation, allowing you to connect more deeply with your true self and the world around you.
Welcome Back to YOU!
It’s such an amazing time of life to be waking up to your true self. Think of it like your computer connecting to the internet for the very first time. It’s exciting, a bit dangerous, confusing, and there is a TON of information and opportunities for exploration and downloading! Having to learn it can be challenging. So it’s like YOU are coming more ONLINE – you become interested in so many things, your interest is piqued – you feel ALIVE and can feel more. For some it’s the senses, for some its emotions for some it all of it.
The rising emotions can be unnerving – when you find yourself crying at everything, and you aren’t sad! Emotions are bubbling up, and just let them flow through you. Recognize that you are releasing, and that the higher frequency energies integrating into your energetic body are affecting the emotional body. For most people this levels out, but I do know some folks who now live in a more emotional state.
Spiritual emergencies can be a lot more of a challenging transformation process.
In both cases, acknowledge your journey, seek support and the connection of others on the same journey, and implement grounding practices, and then you will navigate these profound changes with greater ease. Remember that you are not alone in this process; many others are experiencing similar shifts as we collectively move towards higher consciousness.
